DEKRA appointed as MFi authorized Test Laboratory for Digital Car Keys

DEKRA has been appointed as the first authorized test laboratory for digital car keys technology as part of the MFi Program. DEKRA will provide third-party audit, pre-testing, and advisory services for digital car keys products to MFi licensees at its laboratory in Taiwan.
Digital car keys functions as a key fob, allowing the user to securely unlock, lock, and start a vehicle from a mobile device. Additionally, digital car keys offers key sharing, mobile key management, and offline access. Digital car keys utilizes several wireless technologies that detect proximity, such as NFC, Ultra-wideband, and Bluetooth.

DEKRA is ideally positioned to provide third-party, independent verification for manufacturers and technology companies to ensure all industry requirements and regulatory standards are met,” said Thomas Jäger, Senior Vice President and Head of Technology for Technical Service Management at DEKRA.
This accreditation marks DEKRA’s second authorization from Apple’s MFi program . In April 2021, DEKRA became a MFi authorized test laboratory for CarPlay certification.

DEKRA offers an extensive service portfolio for connectivity testing and certification to the automotive market, as well as cybersecurity, product safety, electromagnetic compatibility, and radio frequency testing. In order to prepare products for market, DEKRA also offers type approval, homologation and certification services.
